Description
At night, you’d hear the woods breathing;
lungs of moss and maidenhair(Ella Duffy, Rootstalk)
Organic-form recycled silver earrings with vintage green amethyst facetted drops.
They have a special surface that’s not shiny polished silver but a kind of glossy white. I do this by heating them after they’re polished and pickling the oxides away to leave a surface of fine (pure) silver. Pure silver is white in its unpolished form.
This surface will develop as you wear them depending on the particular chemistry of your skin and hair or the surroundings you wear them in. I wear a similar pair almost every day and mine have sometimes had greys, golds, glossy browns in the mix of colours on the surface. The organic colours look beautiful with the light green of the amethyst drop.
You can also keep them bright white if you like. Just pop them into an aluminium foil bath of boiling water and bicarbonate of soda when they begin to darken and they will look as good as new in less than 5 minutes.
