Black Shuck Exhibition at the Bell Gallery, Bungay
I was honoured to have my necklace and earrings chosen to be part of the Black Shuck Exhibition at the Bell Gallery in Bungay this year. Black Shuck, the legendary demon dog of East Anglia, who many claim still roams the country roads after midnight, has inspired a fabulous annual festival of creativity + countless artworks located around the town. My pieces reference ‘His fiery eyes’ glowing red out of the darkness. Made from silver and rubies cast in place, the rubies glow black as they are heated with the silver, before cooling to fiery red. Then I oxidised them using boiled eggs from our hens – giving off a pungent smell of sulphur just like in some accounts of Black Shuck.
Ruby necklace £3550 and earrings £840 now available to buy at Gill Wing Jewellery in London.
